Dr Clive Hamilton

Dr Clive Hamilton is the Executive Director of the leading think tank, The Australia Institute at the Australian National University and one of our best-known public thinkers.

Clive's research work at the Institute has covered a number of areas including climate change policy, privatisation and taxation issues and of course also developing measures of well-being. He invented the Genuine Progress Indicator, a rigorous alternative to GDP as a measure of our national progress.

A Visiting Fellow in the Graduate Program in Public Policy at ANU and an Adjunct Professor at University of Technology, Sydney, Clive has published widely, his bestseller being the well known Growth Fetish.
