The Hon Peter Costello MP

Peter was the Federal Treasurer between 1996 and 2007, Deputy Leader of the Federal Liberal Party 1994 - 2007 and a member of the House of Representatives 1990 - 2009.

He holds degrees from Monash University where he was, for a time, a part-time teacher in law and economics/politics, as well as a member of the University Council. Prior to entering Parliament he was a barrister.

Peter and his wife are involved in a number of local community groups in their community and over the past year we have seen him increasingly speaking out and distinguishing himself on social issues such as volunteering, social capital, and the role of community organisations.
