Prof. Robert Manne

Robert Manne is a Professor of Politics at La Trobe University, and is one of Australia's most articulate contemporary public intellectuals and winner of the 2004 "Society" section of Bulletin Magazine's Smart 100.

He was elected a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Social Sciences in 1999, and in 2001 was a joint winner of the Alfred Deakin Prize for Contribution to Public Debate.

Robert has contributed to debate in this country through his numerous books, essays, and newspaper articles on culture, politics and international relations. He also writes regularly for the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age.
