Want to lead the change? These resources aim to help community leaders, and potential community leaders to develop the skills they need to provide true community leadership and influence change in society.
We want to help you continue your vital work to influence the future agendas and policy of Australian society, to generate debate, to raise awareness, to ensure people have a voice, to let people know that alternatives are possible. We have provided a range of tools that are easy to use and that will help community groups learn about why advocacy is important, and how they can do it.
By providing tools and resources in a readily accessible manner the hope is that strong community leaders will be able to help with a growth in advocacy in Australia - we are advocating for advocacy.
Advocacy = Change
Advocacy can take many forms - you could be lobbying for new lights at the local football ground, opposing a war, planting more trees to aid sustainability; the examples are endless. The methods of advocating may have changed (not to mention the issues), but the importance of the task remains.
